Multi-actor policy brief on current and future perspectives of the relationship between Risk Assessors and Risk Managers
As an outcome of the Round table discussion held in Bari on June 7, 2023, a multi-actor policy brief has been prepared to present the contributions of high-level experts from the FoodSafety4EU platform network: WUR (Food Quality&Design and Food Law groups), EFSA, FoodDrinkEurope and EU funded projects Holifood and FoodSafeR under the HORIZON-CL6-2021-FARM2FORK-01-16 topic: “Identification, assessment and management of existing and emerging food safety issues“.
They explored the relationship between risk assessors and risk managers, starting by setting the context through presentations on the legal architecture of risk analysis, identifying the food safety system, and finally sharing contributions from the Horizon Europe projects.
The multi-actor policy brief contributes to the European dialogue about the relationship between risk assessors and risk managers acting to improve the Food Safety System, and it is expected to be updated within the future activities of the FS4EU platform, both in the FSOLABs and EU Food Safety Forum.
It belongs to the FS4EU multi-actor policy brief series, a new way of integrating different views and contributions from various actors playing defined roles in the Food Safety System.
